Month and day poems
Months and days can be used for lots of fun activities. In today’s post, I’m going to share suggestions for writing poems about months and days.
As this month is May, let’s take that month as an example.
May!
May’s wonderful!
May means strawberries, tomatoes and cherries!
May brings longer days and baby birds.
May’s wonderful!
The way you write the poem is:
(Month)!
(Month)’s (1) …………………!
(Month) means (2) ……………., (3) …………………… and (4) ……………………. .
(Month)brings (5) ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and (6) ……………………….. .
(Month)’s (7) ………………………. !
- (1) and (7) = a word to say how you feel about the month.
- (2), (3), (4) = what you eat and drink that month.
- (5) and (6) = what you see around you.
You can do a similar activity with days of the week.
Friday!
Friday’s fun!
On Friday, I play golf.
On Friday, I’m with Jose Ramón and friends.
Friday’s fun!
So, this time, the format is:
(Day)
(Day)’s (1) ………..
On (Day), I (2) ………………… .
On (Day), I’m with (3) ……..
(Day)’s (1) ……………..!
- (1) = an adjective to describe the day.
- (2) = something you do that day.
- (3) = who you do things with on that day.
I hope you try these activities with your students and that both you and enjoy writing month and day poems!
