Pre-A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers Find its!

I’ve just had fun writing three Find its! for Pre-A1 Starters, A1 Movers and A2 Flyers.

I was inspired by some scavenger hunts that I saw online, and thought I’d adapt the idea for these levels.

How can I use these?

My idea for those who are teaching online is that this could be done during the online session.

You can give learners 5 minutes to go off and find as many of the things as possible.  Then, they could bring the things for two of the challenges and show them to the rest of the group.

The other learners have to guess the connection.

Or, you could set this as homework for the next session and they can share their answers.

Or, you could email the sheet to your students (or send a photo of it to a phone) and they could do this with another member of their family.

For the Starters Find it!, I’ve based the things they have to find on colours.I’d suggest that online, learners can do the first six challenges as a go-off-and-find activity. (*If your students are very young, they will need supervision from an adult to do this.)

They can do the Name and Tell us together.

Then, they could draw their pictures and show them to each other at the next session.

All the Movers Find it! challenges could be part of a class, with them being given 6-7 minutes to find as many of the things as possible.

Or, as I said before, they could do this for homework and show their things to their classmates, who have to say which sentence they match.

(e.g.  A book, a shoe box – the connection could be that they are made of paper OR that they are both things that you open and close.)

And for the Flyers Find it quiz!, learners could show their classmates things for one of the materials.

They could compare their things – which is the biggest?  Which is the smallest?  Which is the heaviest?

Or find a connection e.g. We keep a spoon, a fork and a pan in the kitchen.
